Terry Searle (Junior Team England Manager and NAYBC Chairman) has requested that we publish this letter in order to speed up the process as the event is in Tolworth next weekend.

Junior Team England would like to congratulate the following bowlers who have qualified for the NAYBC Masters Tournament.

At this event the Team England selectors will be attending to make the selection of eight boys and eight girls to form the squad from which the teams (four boys and four girls) will be selected for the European Championships in 2011.

The tournament will take place at the Charrington Bowl, Tolworth on the weekend of the 11th and 12th September 2010.


Registration is at
9:00am sharp for a 9:30am roll-off. The event will start at that time regardless, so please be there in plenty of time. The event will be played under BTBA, European Tenpin Bowling Federation, and Team England rules. (Tournament rules can be found at www.naybc.org)

You will be provided with a Junior International Squad shirt to wear, and boys must wear black trousers, with black skirts or skorts for the girls.


The cost for the event is £77.50 which includes a buffet lunch each day and a Junior International Squad shirt, a cheque made payable to the NAYBC must accompany your reply to this invitation. Please can you write the player’s name on the back of the cheque. You must ensure that there are funds to cover this amount as returned cheques will jeopardise your qualification. National Association of Youth Bowling Clubs of the B.T.B.A

In order to join the Junior Team England Ranking Tour you must hold a current BTBA card and hold a JTE Tour card. In order to apply for a JTE Tour card you must hold an average of 170 and above for boys and 150 and above for girls over a minimum of 21 games. This average can be from the JTE Ranking Tour 2009-10 or from your YBC or other leagues in which you bowl.

Current JTE Ranking Tour averages and BTBA Tour averages are available on the NAYBC web site and these will be updated after the completion of the English Junior Open to show the final tables. You can apply now for the JTE Tour cards to be ready for the first events of the 2010-11 season.

If you believe that you meet the criteria, please complete and forward the application form downloadable from the NAYBC web site, together with a fee of £5. You will need a JTE Tour card to gain ranking points.

Players who have not played the minimum number of games, but who believe they are able to achieve the minimum standards may apply to the JTE Tour committee to be considered for membership of the JTE Ranking Tour for 2010-11. All applications will be considered, contact details below.

Bowlers must be in possession of both a current BTBA Card and a JTE Tour Card in order to participate in JTE only tournaments. 2010/11 BTBA cards can be applied for directly from head office, from mid July 2010, apply early to ensure you get your early season points.
